Incubator: Tool-kit for survivalism on the edge of the world

The Skaftfell incubator took place on May 20–22, 2016 parallel to a symposium titled Tool-kit for Survivalism on the Edge of the World. The incubator served as a platform for multidisciplinary dialogue, focusing on the intersections of visual art and ecological issues in the context of Iceland.

The key questions were:

WHAT are the particularities of ecosystems, environment, community, and daily life in Iceland?

HOW do artists engage with these issues and what is their contribution to this discourse?

WHAT opportunities and challenges are in store for local ecologies and how can we adjust to them?
